Backend Developer/Solution Architect with Strong AI Experience - 19565

Role Summary

An experienced Backend Developer/Solution Architect is needed for a consulting assignment in a modern digital environment. The role combines hands-on software development with solution architecture, focusing on designing and building backend services and integrations for business-critical processes. You will translate business needs into pragmatic technical solutions and contribute throughout the full lifecycle, from design and technical decisions through implementation, production operation, and further development.

This is a hands-on role for a senior developer with an architectural perspective rather than a purely advisory architect. You will work closely with both development teams and business stakeholders and influence the evolving technical landscape as new solutions, backend architectures, and integrations are built and enhanced.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and system integrations.
• Define solution architectures, service boundaries, APIs, and integration patterns.
• Translate operational and business requirements into pragmatic, maintainable technical solutions.
• Contribute to technical design decisions from initial architecture through implementation and production operation.
• Develop and evolve systems based on microservices, messaging, and event-driven architectural principles.
• Troubleshoot, support, and operate production systems.
• Collaborate closely with developers and business stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Support and coach other developers through technical guidance and hands-on contribution.

Technical Stack & Requirements

• Strong experience with Java, Kotlin, or similar backend technologies.
• Extensive backend development experience, including API development and system integrations.
• Solid understanding of microservices, messaging solutions, and event-driven architecture.
• Experience with system design, service decomposition, service boundaries, and integration architecture.
• Practical experience with CI/CD, cloud environments, and DevOps practices.
• Experience debugging and operating production-grade systems.
• Experience with Spring is advantageous.

Qualifications & Experience

You are a senior, hands-on backend developer who combines strong implementation capability with solution architecture expertise. You have experience working close to business stakeholders and turning needs into effective technical solutions without unnecessary complexity. The assignment requires a pragmatic approach, sound technical judgement, and the ability to guide and coach other developers. Experience with Kotlin and Spring is considered beneficial.
