Role Summary
An experienced, business-oriented Business Controller is needed to support a global R&D organization within powertrain development. The role focuses on strengthening financial steering, planning, analysis and decision-making while ensuring that financial targets are achieved. The R&D organization is undergoing significant changes to its ways of working, systems and roles, and the Controller will contribute to the evolution and implementation of future financial management models, processes and tools.
You will act as a trusted business partner in an international environment, collaborating closely with operational and strategic stakeholders, management teams, R&D Controlling and other finance functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and drive core financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, analysis and reporting processes.
- Provide financial steering and decision support to management and business stakeholders within the R&D organization.
- Contribute to strategic discussions and support decisions that influence cost development and business performance.
- Support financial closing processes, KPI follow-up and performance management activities.
- Develop and implement future financial management models, processes and tools as the organization evolves.
- Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership teams in a global matrix organization.
- Prepare and present financial analyses, insights and recommendations to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Technical Stack & Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Strong knowledge of Power BI for reporting, visualization and data-driven analysis.
- Strong financial systems knowledge and data analysis capabilities.
- Experience with SAP is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, KPI follow-up and financial closing processes.
Qualifications & Experience
You hold a Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline. A minimum of 5 years of experience in Business Controlling or a comparable financial controlling role is required. Experience supporting management teams, influencing cost development and partnering with stakeholders across finance and business functions is essential.
Experience from an international or global business environment is highly desirable. The successful consultant brings strong business acumen, analytical capability, professional judgment and the ability to operate effectively in a changing environment where solutions may not always be clearly defined.
