Role Summary
An Electronics Engineer Consultant is needed to join a Hardware Engineering team responsible for a broad portfolio of industrial controllers, accessories, cables, and production test equipment throughout their product lifecycle. The assignment focuses on safeguarding product quality, manufacturability, compliance, and long-term product availability while driving continuous improvements and electronic redesigns caused by component obsolescence, last-time buys, and supply-chain constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Take technical ownership of electronic hardware updates and redesign activities for existing industrial products.
- Drive board redesigns related to component obsolescence, supply constraints, last-time buys, and product-improvement initiatives.
- Design, modify, validate, and implement electronic hardware solutions for existing products.
- Perform verification and validation activities for design changes and product updates.
- Plan and execute technical investigations, troubleshooting, root-cause analyses, and corrective actions.
- Document technical changes, design updates, validation results, and investigation outcomes.
- Collaborate with technical product owners, production teams, suppliers, and other cross-functional stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
- Balance long-term development work with urgent operational and production-related issues.
Technical Stack & Requirements
- Strong practical experience in electronics design and electronic troubleshooting.
- Experience with circuit design and PCB layout, preferably using OrCAD.
- Experience with hardware testing, verification, validation, and implementation of electronic design changes.
- Ability to independently conduct root-cause analysis and corrective-action activities.
- Experience working with industrial electronic products, controllers, accessories, cables, and production test equipment is beneficial.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal consultant has solid experience in electronics design, troubleshooting, and the lifecycle management of existing hardware products. You should be able to independently lead technical investigations, root-cause analyses, and board redesign activities. Experience working in a cross-functional industrial environment, including collaboration with production and external suppliers, is required. Strong written and verbal English communication skills are essential.
