Progress OpenEdge Developer

Role Summary

We are seeking a Progress OpenEdge Developer for a consulting assignment within the insurance sector. The role focuses on maintaining, enhancing, and developing business-critical systems in an established and complex application environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, further develop, and build new functionality for business-critical Progress OpenEdge applications.
• Work effectively within existing codebases and gain an understanding of complex application flows.
• Troubleshoot issues across closely integrated application logic, databases, and integrations.
• Contribute to iterative delivery and continuous improvement as part of an Agile Scrum team.
• Use AI-assisted tools to support development, analysis, and testing where relevant.

Technical Stack & Requirements

• Strong hands-on development experience with Progress OpenEdge.
• Proficiency in ABL/4GL.
• Experience working with databases and integrated enterprise application environments.
• Practical experience with maintenance, enhancement, new development, and debugging of complex systems.
• Experience working according to Agile and Scrum methodologies.

Qualifications & Experience

You have worked as a Progress OpenEdge Developer and have at least 5 years of experience in systems development. You are confident working in complex, business-critical environments where application logic, databases, and integrations are tightly connected. Experience using AI to support development, analysis, and testing is advantageous. Insurance domain knowledge and/or experience with Winsure is also considered beneficial.
