Senior Backend Developer – Python, PHP & AI Automation - 20264

Assignment Description

We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer to develop, maintain, and support a large application landscape that supports critical business processes.

You will work with Python, PHP, and relational databases, taking ownership of solutions from development through to production. The role focuses on backend development, API integrations, automation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement, with opportunities to explore secure AI integration and automation solutions.

What You Will Work On

• Develop, maintain, and improve backend applications using Python and PHP.
• Take ownership of solutions throughout the development and production lifecycle.
• Design, develop, and maintain APIs, integrations, and database logic.
• Troubleshoot production issues and support stable system operations.
• Monitor automated workflows and integrations.
• Identify opportunities for automation and AI-driven improvements.
• Maintain high standards of code quality, security, and system reliability.
• Follow established security policies and modern development practices.
• Collaborate with other teams, share knowledge, and contribute to technical discussions.
• Work with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Unix-based environments.

What You Bring

• Strong development skills in both Python and PHP.
• Solid experience in backend development within production environments.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining APIs and integrations.
• Experience working with MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Good understanding of database logic and secure coding practices.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD processes.
• Comfortable working in terminal and Unix-based environments.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership from development to production.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.

Meritorious

• JavaScript and frontend technologies such as Node.js and Vue.
• Experience operating AI solutions securely, particularly local or on-premises models.
• Experience integrating AI models into applications, workflows, and automation solutions.
• Experience improving existing systems through automation and AI.
