Role Summary
An experienced C++ engineer is needed for a consulting assignment focused on supporting and improving a data acquisition solution in a technically advanced embedded systems environment. The work involves low-level Linux development, efficient data handling, and hardware-accelerated video processing. You will work close to the operating system and underlying hardware to develop and enhance software components that collect and transfer data reliably and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize low-level Linux applications and services in C++.
- Improve software components used to collect and manage data from connected hardware devices.
- Work with Linux networking APIs, with particular focus on AF_PACKET.
- Contribute to reliable and efficient data transfer and handling in a performance-critical environment.
- Support the ongoing improvement of hardware-adjacent data acquisition and video-processing software.
Technical Stack & Requirements
- C++ for low-level application and service development.
- Linux, including strong operating-system fundamentals and low-level development.
- Linux networking APIs, particularly AF_PACKET.
- Performance-oriented data handling and software optimization.
- Hardware-accelerated video processing.
- Go experience is valuable.
Qualifications & Experience
The assignment is suited to a senior software engineer with strong C++ and Linux fundamentals, particularly in performance-critical and hardware-adjacent systems. Experience developing low-level Linux applications, working with networking APIs, and optimizing efficient data flows is important. Experience with Go is advantageous.
