Senior Data Engineer – GCP, dbt & Data Pipelines - 20336

Assignment Description

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer for a consulting assignment within Data & Analytics at a large organization with complex data environments and large data volumes.

You will build and maintain robust, scalable, and high-quality data pipelines using modern cloud technologies. The role focuses on data processing, data quality, performance optimization, and data modelling to support analytics, reporting, and business decision-making.

What You Will Work On

• Develop and maintain pipelines for data ingestion, storage, and processing.
• Build and optimize data transformations using Jinja SQL and dbt.
• Work with GCP services, including BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Dataflow, Cloud Run, and Cloud Build.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure using Terraform.
• Manage CI/CD workflows using GitHub.
• Optimize BigQuery performance and data pipelines.
• Work with Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms.
• Apply data warehousing and dimensional modelling best practices.
• Maintain high standards for code structure, documentation, and data quality.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, development teams, source system owners, and data architects.

What You Bring

• Extensive experience with Jinja SQL and dbt.
• Extensive experience with Terraform.
• Strong experience with GCP, particularly BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Dataflow, Cloud Run Services/Jobs, and Cloud Build.
• Experience with GitHub CI/CD.
• Experience with Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing and data modelling, such as Kimball.
• Experience optimizing BigQuery and data pipelines.
• Fluent English, spoken and written.

Meritorious

• Python development experience.
• Platform administration and IAM knowledge.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
• Fluent Swedish, spoken and written.
