Role Summary

An experienced Test Lead is required for a major transformation and implementation project focused on assortment planning. The role is responsible for defining, maintaining, and governing the overall test strategy and test plan for a complex solution landscape with numerous integrations and dependencies.

You will coordinate testing across business stakeholders, IT teams, external suppliers, and implementation partners. The assignment requires ensuring that relevant business flows, integrations, data, and processes are covered throughout all test phases and that the project has a robust basis for assessing solution quality and remaining risks ahead of go-live.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and govern the overall test strategy, test plan, and test approach for the project.
• Plan, coordinate, and lead test activities across business teams, IT, development and integration teams, testers, and external vendors.
• Lead system testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing across the project lifecycle.
• Ensure test cases and acceptance criteria provide sufficient coverage of solution requirements and prioritised use cases.
• Ensure appropriate test data and test environments are available and ready for each test phase.
• Lead defect management activities, including tracking, prioritisation, follow-up, and coordination of defect resolution.
• Monitor test results, solution quality, dependencies, and risks, and provide clear status reporting to project management.
• Support readiness assessments for go-live by ensuring stakeholders have adequate insight into quality status and residual risks.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, business representatives, product owners, solution architects, technical leads, development teams, integration teams, testers, and implementation partners.

Technical Stack & Requirements

• Strong practical knowledge of test methodology, test strategy, test planning, test cases, test data, and acceptance criteria.
• Extensive experience leading system testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
• Experience coordinating testing in complex solution environments with multiple integrations and technical dependencies.
• Proven capability in defect management, test result follow-up, quality assessment, risk management, and test status reporting.
• Experience preparing and managing test environments and test data for different test phases.
• ISTQB certification, or an equivalent testing qualification, is advantageous.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate has a relevant university education or equivalent professional experience. A minimum of 9 years of experience planning and leading testing through multiple test phases in complex solutions with extensive integrations and dependencies is required. Experience coordinating test work between business functions, IT organisations, and external suppliers is essential.

Experience from retail, assortment management, or similar business domains is advantageous. The role requires professional English communication skills, both written and spoken. You should be structured, proactive, and comfortable identifying and escalating quality issues, risks, obstacles, and dependencies early, including in time-sensitive project environments.
